Who we are
FUBAR Car (fubarcar.com) is an online directory operated by Shark Auto Sales LLC that connects people looking to scrap their vehicles with paid, listed scrap-car buyers in their county. Contact: info@fubarcar.com.
What we collect
- Sellers (end users): nothing personal. Sellers browse the directory anonymously. We may collect standard server logs and privacy-respecting analytics. Sellers who use a listing's contact form provide their name, email, optional phone number, and message, which are sent directly to that Platinum buyer (and not used by us for marketing).
- Buyers (paid listings): business name, contact name, mobile phone number, email, billing information (via Stripe), the county and tier chosen, and a record of SMS opt-in (consent text, timestamp).
How we use it
Buyer business name, phone, and email may be displayed on the public county page for the tier you subscribed to. Email is used for account, billing, and service messages. Mobile phone numbers are used to deliver the SMS notifications described below.
SMS / text messaging program
FUBAR Car (Shark Auto Sales LLC) operates an SMS program for listed buyers only (we do not send text messages to sellers or general site visitors). Messages are sent from +1 (321) 382-2786. By checking the SMS consent box during buyer signup and providing your mobile number, you agree to receive text messages from FUBAR Car (Shark Auto Sales LLC), including:
- Account and billing notifications about your own listing and subscription (activation, renewal, payment issues, changes you make).
- Customer-care notifications letting you know that a visitor submitted the contact form on your own listing page, so you can log in and respond.
We do not sell, rent, or share contact information with anyone, and we do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Message frequency varies based on activity on your own listing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to +1 (321) 382-2786 to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe by emailing info@fubarcar.com. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose mobile phone numbers or SMS consent information to any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing is limited to subprocessors necessary to operate the SMS program (see below).
Third parties / subprocessors
- Stripe - payment processing.
- Supabase - database, authentication, and file storage.
- Twilio - SMS delivery (mobile numbers and message content are shared solely to deliver messages you have consented to receive).
- Email delivery provider - sending transactional email.
- GoHighLevel - internal CRM used to manage buyer and lead records.
These providers act as data processors and may not use your information for their own marketing.
Data retention & deletion
We retain buyer account and listing data while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward for tax, accounting, and dispute resolution. To fully delete your record (including SMS consent history), email info@fubarcar.com.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us. You may withdraw SMS consent at any time by replying STOP to any message from us or by contacting support.
